Here are a bunch:
When I check mail, a popup appears-"Compose or Open", why would one want this, can it be eliminated.

How to make the "Subject" stay open larger than minimum  width?
How to make a full (00:00AM/PM MM/DD/YY) appear on emails.
How to change the sort by date to descending order (newest on top)

Setup  question on Personalities- what does the check on "include on global check/send"do?
and finally- Can a sound notification be set when a specific personality gets mail.

There are multiple ways to Check Mail: The icon in the top Menu bar, under the Menu item Action is an entry Check Mail, or you can do a Crtl+M.  Which method are you using?

If you are doing a Crtl+M, is it possible you pressed N instead of M?

I am not sure what "How to make the "Subject" stay open larger than minimum  width?" this is about.  Please add some clarifying information.

To change the message sort order, click in the appropriate column header box.  In the right side of the header is an arrow icon that either point up or down.  Up means new messages on bottom and Down means new message on top.  To change the arrow icon direct, use Shift+Left+Click for Down and  Crtl+Left+Click for Up.  The Help | Topics | Mailboxes has information on sorting messages in mailboxes.

Clicking on Menu item Check Mail or doing a Crtl+M is how a Global Check is performed. The Menu item File | Send or Crtl+H performs a Global Send.  Each Personality has a Global Send and Global Check selection box and when the selection box is checked, the Personality is included in a Global Send or Check..  You can also Right+Click on a personality and select and Left+Click on either Send or Check to initiate the action.

Left+Click on the Menu item Settings, select General, then Left+Click. and the Settings window will open. Scroll the Category: to selection Notifications, then Left+Click, and the Notifications window will open.  There is a section for Getting Attention on New Mail with a option for Play the Sound.  This causes a alert whenever new mail is received by any Personality.

You can set a filter to play a sound when a Message match is found.  If the match applies only to messages from a certain personality, then indirectly you can get a sound when a Personality gets a message.
