Pandora: I have 3 problerms. help! [RESOLVED]

Hi, I have just installed and purchased Pandora.
Now I have to Import all emails from Eudora 7.1. Pandora have just done it perfectly but...... It created every maibloxs but Pandora is not able to import emails from one Eudora mailbox: "Archivio in". I have precious emails there and I need it. But Pandora  was not ablet to import any email in "Archivio in" from Eudora.

The second problem: it is impossible to close Pandora. If I click Quit or on X on top right, nothing is happening. I have to go to Task Bar to shot Pandora with CTRL-ALT-CANC keys.

The Third problem: I don't know how show Pandora if it is opened. In fact if I click on th Toolbar icon on lower left, I can open Pandora but I see In and Out mailboxes.

As to the first problem, try this: open Eudora and rename that mailbox to something simple, one word, perhaps that's the problem. Then try and import.
Third problem, not sure I am  understanding  correctly, but I may have the same problem.  I have a problem that when Pandora is parked on the task bar and I left click on its icon in order to bring it back to the desktop, instead of coming back to the desktop, it shows me two lines of the same icons with whatever mailboxes I have opened. It's annoying that I have to click again on one of the icons to get Pandora back to the desktop

Thanks for your reply. I renomed those mailboxes in Eudora folder and I tried to import the emails from Pandora. When I try to do it I get this writings: "Importing leftovers from previous session first." IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO IMPORT THEM.

Then I tried to close Pandora but I still not able to do it. It is impossible to close Pandora. It seems incredible.
Pandora look ORRIBLE in my PC.

Click View/Tasks, if there are active importing tasks, select all, hold down Shift key and right-click/Stop.

Short term solution:

1. Open your main data folder in File Explorer, and locate Import folder.
2. Rename Import to any other name say Import_OLD.
3. Start Pandora, hit Settings/Message File Viewer and make sure E-Mail Message Files [eml] is checked and hit OK.
4. Go back to Import_OLD and double click on problematic eml file that was not imported.
5. Message-File Viewer will open and display the content of that file.
6. If it looks all right hit Transfer/In to import to Pandora.

Of course you have to then move that message from In to designated mailbox.

If you have a large number of leftover files, scrape that import and wait for the next version (for 10 days or so):

Upcoming version 2.77 includes much improved Importer, there are leftovers no more, session exit can no longer be blocked by Importer and faster import-speed.

I did everything you have just told me but it is don't work. But I'm afraid I don't understand what I have to do precisely. I go to Pandora, I click on "Transer", then it shows a drop down menu but everything is disabled, here I can't transfer any email. But maybe I don't really understand what I have to do. ExploringWorld, try this then:
1. Start Pandora, create a brand new mailbox, say Not Imported.
2. Open Not Imported mailbox, maximize the window.
3. Go back to File Explorer, select and drag and drop message files from Import_OLD folder onto Not Imported mailbox.

I thank you for your hepl but unfortunately it doesn't work. I will wait for the next update and I will get the same problems I will have to change client.

To open eml files with Message-File Viewer:

Most likely you have more than instance of Message-File Viewer installed, so eml files are associated with old/other instances, that's why the menus are disabled. To override file-associations:
1. Start Pandora, hit Settings/Messages File Viewer. Check all the boxes, including "Use direct injection when invoked from Pandora".
2. Hit OK - even if all boxes were checked when you opened the dialog. You want to refresh associations and associate these file types with particular instance of MFV that comes with Pandora.
3. Hit File/Open from the main menu and browse to the folder where eml files are, hit Open.

To drag and drop eml-files from File Explorer:

That particular drag and drop operation is done in conjunction with Windows stock drag and drop, so you may have to start Pandora as Administrator, or enable drag and drop in Windows if it's disabled.

I did it agai but I get the same problems with "Importing leftovers from previous session first." I unistalled and installed Pandora 20 time but I get the same problems. I can't even close the program. I spent many hours solving my problems but I can't. So don't waste any more time with me please. I will try to make a fresh installation a few months, hoping that the problems will be solved. However, I thank you for your availability.

Sorry you wasted your time too ExploringWorld especially on re-installation - why? That's completely unnecessary.
Not only in this case but in potential future cases, just follow provided steps as closely as possible (usually it takes 5-10 minutes tops), and if something does not go as expected, get back to us - for example "after step 3, drag and drop step, nothing happens", or "after step 2 error message appears" etc.
We'll take it from there, and provide you with additional instructions or include the bugfix in the next release.

We didn't receive any bug reports, have you tried to open exported eml files, in 3 steps, as suggested above?

We are only few days away from 2.77, Importer now includes a special provision for damaged/garbled messages, which are transferred to another folder, leftovers can no longer stand in the way of any current operation, Importer no longer blocks session exit, Pandora can be used normally while import goes on and much more.

I thank you for your availability. I will wait for 2.77 version.
Anyway YES I opened exported eml files without problems. They are in the folder but I'm now able to export them into another folder.
My english is not good and maybe I don't understand every step. For this reason I will waith the newer versions.

Hey, I have just installed the new update and every old problem is disappear. I thank you. Some last questions please:
why do I have different characters in "In and Out" mailboxes while in all other mailboxes I have bigger characters? Could I increase the characters of "In and Out" mailboxes? They are so small.

Hit View/Text Size/Increase from the main menu.

If you can see In and Out buttons Pandora is already running. In and Out are Pandora, so click on In or Out.

When Taskbar buttons are Combined in Windows (Taskbar/Properties), and there is more than one workspace window open, click on main taskbar button will bring smaller buttons first.

For HTML messages, use the optical zoom. That's Ctrl+Shift+[Num +] to zoom in and Ctrl+Shift+[Num -] to zoom out.

Optical zoom with mouse: Notice status bar pane that reads 100% at the bottom right. Right-click to zoom in, left-click to zoom out.

For rare cases/simple HTML messages where font sizes are not specified you can use standard Text Size as well.

You can also use optical zoom on plain text messages. Of course standard text size is then scaled up/down accordingly (depending on optical zoom ratio).

Here we go again. I can't do what you say. It doesn't work for me. However I don't understand if every time I open an email I have to use the mouse to increase the size of the writing or Ctrl + Shift + [Num +]. It would be a nice nuisance, but maybe I don't understand well. Sorry.

100% is fixed default. Primarily because the original purpose of optical zoom was to correct occasional small letters in HTML, not to compensate for high screen resolution.

There are 2 pending features that will make life a bit easier for people with high-res screens. One - You'll be able to change that default value, two - you'll be able to scale base size for optical zoom.

No, when you compose a message, or edit received message, of course you can explicitly change the text size.

For received HTML messages however, in view-mode, font sizes were set by sender. Now if they are not, and that's rare, Pandora will use your default fonts and sizes (as defined under Settings/Fonts) for display purposes (sender did not specify it - so it's open for interpretation).

Basic options are under View/Text Size menu. See Help/Fonts for greater detail.

The biggest problem is: I can't read the Pandora emails if I don't use the zoom. It seems incredible. In Eudora the character is normal but in Pandora the same email is unreadable for default. I don't underrtand if there is a precise option to increase those writings when I open an email in Pandora. I don't understand that precise option. Look at the pics:

Go to Settings/Composing Mail, click on Formatting tab, check Plain Text radio-box.
Go to Setting/Fonts, change both Default Size combo-boxes to Large.
Under Font-Table Size frame change Medium to 24, Large to 32, and Very Large to 36.
Hit OK.

Open that same message, switch to plain text view: Edit/Format/Switch.
If plain text version does not exist, download and open some new messages, inspect text size, adjust the above values for best fit.

Could I increase their size for default? It is impossible to read that email. Then I like to inform that email look like a normal email with normal writing in Eudora, while on Pandora it is shown as a pic with no normal writings.

1. Save that message as eml file (File/Save as).
2. Hit Help/Send Feedback/Report a Bug.
[New message is created.]
3. Attach saved file from step 1 to your bug report and hit Send.

This message is displayed exactly as intended by sender, but you have to enable online images manually (and that's a good thing). So hit:
View/Online Content/Allow All

To customize global settings go to:
Settings/Viewing Mail/Online Content

You can increase default zoom level, so when you open the message for the first time upon download, it's 140% (instead of 100%):
1. Hold down Shift key and press Settings/General from the main menu.
2. Scroll down to and click on DefaultZoomLevelReceived
3. Set the value to 140, hit Change.

One more thing, this message contains plain text version as well - switch in between 2 versions with: Edit/Format/Switch.
